reliable leisure pony - Me and my mother are looking for a new home for our dear pony gelding in an open stable in a small herd (at least two horses), with someone who visits and exercises him daily and has a lot of fun, especially riding him out.
El-Cid is pretty much the most tolerant and relaxed pony you can imagine. He has a totally loving and good-natured nature, always tries to please you and really goes along with everything. He especially enjoys going for rides and ground work. He is also totally adaptable and enjoys learning new tricks and exploring the countryside and is used to everything from other horses to bicycles, roads, villages and dogs. He is also very easy to handle with other horses and tends to be low in rank. He really is the opposite of a stubborn horse and if you give him the right aids and instructions, he responds to them immediately. Whether he is ridden in a western saddle, with a saddle or without a saddle at all, with a noseband or snaffle, El-Cid is a total sofa to sit on and very pleasant to ride and handle. He has a slow walk, but is by no means lazy and doesn't need to be spurred on much. He also likes to speed up in the field, but only in a controlled manner. It is important to us to find a leisure rider who will challenge and work him, but who will generally take it easy with him, as we believe that this suits him best. As El-Cid is allergic to certain pollens, we sometimes have to limit ourselves to a walk at certain times of the year, but this only happens a few times a year.

All in all, we would really describe him as a dream pony that we now unfortunately have to give away with a lot of heartache, as my studies and my mother's illness mean that we simply can no longer look after him sufficiently. It is therefore important for us to find someone who suits him and is responsive to his needs. The price is of secondary importance to us. Everything else can be discussed privately.
