Pretty Connamara trotter mix mare - Hello, after long consideration and with a heavy heart I am offering my pretty 9 year old Connamara trotter mix mare named Ginny. She is 1.47 m tall. She has been in my possession for 6 months, I saw her and was immediately enthusiastic about her, because according to the previous owners she is great to ride off-road and on the trail, I decided to buy her. I got on well with her during the trail and cross-country tests. Ginny was sold to me as a calm, reliable horse. I was looking for just such a horse as I tend to be an insecure rider due to a serious riding accident in 2019.
Unfortunately, it has now turned out that she is not as calm as she was there, she unfortunately has too much "go". Ginny is not a beginner horse and needs an experienced person / rider who can give her calm and security. She is very clever and self-confident. Unfortunately, she is also easily distracted or jumpy and needs a lot of time to get used to new surroundings. She is not a weight carrier.
She is currently being worked by a trainer 2 to 3 times a week from the ground from the ground, such as cross-country walks, lunging and leading her into the paddock. I didn't buy her so that others could get on with her and ride her later and I couldn't.
I took a very long time to decide to sell her because it is really hard for me to give her up. I see her as a great leisure horse that an experienced rider can have a lot of fun with. If there is serious interest, I would like to find her a good forever home where she can continue to be worked and loved. Ginny is difficult to trust, so it would be good to work her from the ground first before riding her.
She is well behaved at the farrier and loading went well. She is regularly vaccinated and wormed. Her teeth were done at the end of last year. She is herd-friendly and cuddly and loves to be groomed and cuddled. She is also very curious, interested and attentive. She is also very people-oriented and sensitive, and was stabled with a cold-blooded mare. Ginny knows and is used to living in an open stable, which was also the case with her previous owners. She is rather stressed in a box and feels uncomfortable.
It would be nice if someone could be found who would like to explore the world with her, encourage her and give her the security that I unfortunately cannot give her...
I would also like to stay in contact with the new owners and possibly visit Ginny, as it is not easy for me to give her away.
