Palomino Tinker: Broken In and Driven - Palomino Tinker Mare

Since Tinkers are late developers, she is still physically maturing. She is not expected to reach her final conformation until she is about 8 to 9 years old. Thanks to her sturdy build, she already provides good support even for taller riders.
Personality & Daily Life
In daily interactions, she is calm, attentive, and sensitive. She enjoys groundwork and is eager to cooperate. As is typical for Tinkers, she needs some time to warm up to her human. If given this time and space, she proves to be very people-oriented.
Training & Rider Requirements
She underwent training and basic instruction from June through early September and made excellent progress during that time.
She is still in the process of being trained and requires an experienced rider who can provide her with a sense of security and clear, consistent guidance. She is therefore expressly not available to beginners.
We cannot assess how she behaves under a rider in the field, as we have so far led her there exclusively from the ground. She is familiar with walks in the field.
According to her previous owners, she was driven in both single and double harness. Since we do not drive ourselves, we cannot provide any firsthand information regarding her current level of training with a carriage.
Health, Farrier & Trailer
• Well-behaved at the farrier, barefoot • Loads well; she has always gone onto the trailer calmly when we’ve taken her • Receives regular osteopathic checkups • Teeth last treated at the end of May • Fully vaccinated against tetanus • Equine passport available (without proof of pedigree) • Accustomed to both open stabling and stall housing
Our Wish
We are looking for an experienced horse person who isn’t seeking a horse that’s already fully trained, but rather someone who enjoys continuing to work with her calmly, consistently, and thoughtfully.
Since she is still in training and we do not want to subject her to a succession of riders as part of the sale, we do not offer trial rides at our facility. If you are seriously interested, videos of her work under saddle to date can be viewed on-site during a personal meeting.
