Haflinger mare 15 years - 15 year old Haflinger mare
First of all, she is not a beginner's horse and not suitable for children. Only for experienced hands.
Indy has been with me for almost 6 years but unfortunately I no longer have the time or health to do her justice. That's why she hasn't been ridden since October. At the moment I prefer to work her from the ground (lunge and double lunge), which is now working very well. However, she is occasionally quite dominant and knows that she is stronger than humans.
She doesn't find dressage work very interesting either, but she loves jumping, which unfortunately I have never been able to encourage, as jumping is not my thing at all. Riding out in pairs or in a group with calm horses works, but not on her own, as she is unfortunately very goggle-eyed if she doesn't have a complete overview of her surroundings.
She needs regular exercise in winter, otherwise she occasionally becomes explosive at work.
In summer she is in a mixed herd and is quite high ranking but also subordinate.
She knows meadow/paddock during the day and box at night, which she also needs as a place to rest and retreat.
She definitely needs a reference person, as she does not trust strangers at all and cannot be handled by them.
Once she has accepted you and taken you "into her heart", you can actually do anything with her. She comes to me in the meadow when I call her and can be brought in from there by halter without any problems. I can pick her up anywhere and even check her front teeth for hooks.
I'm only giving her away because I'm no longer in good health to ride her and she's just too young to stand around.
Maybe someone is looking for a horse where riding is not necessarily the top priority.
Will be sold complete with accessories (saddle, bridle, rain rug, sweat rug, halter etc.)
A test ride is theoretically possible, but as I said, no one has sat on it for a few months. I would need a little time to get her going again.
I would also like to get to know her over a certain period of time so that I can be really sure, as she should not become a challenge cup due to her special nature.
Unfortunately, there are only riding videos that are a few years old. Current videos only of lunging or free running.
