Trail riding saddle Oakfield from Sommer and Way out West - I am offering for sale the mega comfortable trail riding saddle from Sommer and Way out West Oakfield Trekking shown above. Unfortunately I can no longer use the saddle due to a disability. Otherwise I would not sell this great saddle.
This model is based on the seat construction of the Sommer Evolution saddle, paired with a large, slightly flexible base.
3-fold adjustable chamber width and two adjustment options for center of gravity and spinal canal width. Saddle panels can be loosened with a screw, no tools required.
Slightly flexible, self-padding saddle panels.
Genuine lambskin on the underside.
The Oakfield is a very comfortable trail riding saddle with modern, adjustable technology.
Almost everything can be individually adjusted, from the swing and position of the panels to the knee rolls and gullet width.
The tree is slightly flexible with a forged gullet plate.
The softly padded contact surfaces are filled with molded foam panels (which can be changed as required using a Velcro fastener), which do not become hard or uneven.
These panels adjust themselves to the angle of the horse's back, making them suitable even for very sensitive horses.
The fit of the saddle can be easily adjusted to the horse in question using the screws (see photo).
The knee rolls can be screwed on at different positions. The saddle can also be ridden without knee rolls and without a saddle flap. There are enough screws and eyelets for luggage. One photo shows a hole. Nothing is missing here, but the saddle can be easily adjusted to the horse by simply moving the screws. I have shortened the stirrups a little as they were far too long. The red on the panels comes from a red felt saddle pad that I used underneath. I had a fur pad over the saddle to protect it and I don't wear silicone breeches, which damage the leather

The spine channel is between 9 and 14 cm wide, depending on the adjustment. The panels are 57 cm long, but this is intentional in order to distribute the rider's weight over a large area, especially on longer rides. Nevertheless, the saddle is also suitable for horses with short backs. My saddler fitted the saddle to both my wide Haflinger mare and my 4-year-old Arabohaflinger mare with a short back on site without any problems. The saddle is fitted further forward like a western saddle, so the saddle does not lie far back. The seat area measured from the outer edges is 50 cm, the pure seat area measured from the inside is 40 cm. I am a size 40 and I fit in perfectly, as did other riders with sizes 36 and 44. I usually had a hide on the saddle and treated the saddle very carefully.
