Mare 3 years, Classic-Champagne, Iberian mix - Palatina, born in 04/2020
Currently 1.58m tall, expected final height about 1.65m. Her pedigree is PRE mix x Appaloosa (Azteka). Palatina has a horse passport from the Belgian association "Royal Belgian Palomino".
Character: Palatina is a very brave, outgoing and cuddly mare, she loves to be cuddled and is very people-oriented.
She is very self-confident, independent and self-reliant. Palatina stays calm when her horse friend is being ridden or leaves the stable for a ride. She is great on walks, even alone without "equine" company.
So far, I have been training her to lead (stop, walk, wait a short time - lead position right and left), to go for short walks, to do hanger training, to give hooves and to stand calmly at the grooming area. We extend our training in peace by putting a saddle blanket on her back. saddle blanket on her back and putting a bit in her mouth. Palatina does everything really well and learns quickly. She is never hysterical about new things, but basically deals with new things open-mindedly and courageously. You have to give her the time to explore things at her pace, when pressured Palatina reacts stoically and doesn't move. During training Palatina is very attentive and teachable.
Due to the fact that Palatina is very independent, her future owner should deal with her in a fair and friendly, but determined way. She does try to push boundaries, but is not resentful or bitchy when reprimanded. Rather, she accepts the reminder gratefully. She is a horse that really likes to do things and wants to be worked (adapted to her age, of course) and you can see her pleased expression when you work things out with her.
Exterior: Palatina is currently 1.58m tall and is expected to be around 1.65m tall and overall very strong and more of a baroque horse. Her daddy "Gucci Blue" is a very baroque PRE and also passes on strong and the special color or champagne gene. Her color is called "classic champagne", she is a black horse with the brightening gene champagne (heterozygote). The light mane/tail resp. the white spots give Palatina an additional extraordinary look.
If you like baroque/strong horses, you will find a dream horse with wow factor in Palatina.
I wish for Palatina an owner who will encourage her and want to grow together with her and this will be determined. She is really a great mare and working out new things with her is a lot of fun. I can imagine Palatina very well in the field of Working Equitation, because she is fearless, curious and brave. Working on cattle will be a lot of fun with her, she is already practicing with our farm dog when he doesn't run away fast enough.
But Palatina will also be a great partner in other disciplines where you can work out and develop lessons with your partner horse, like classical or academic dressage work.
